Successful head sculpture begins with understanding where the vertical/horizontal planes and facets are, and the fundamental relationships the features have with them. On this tutorial we’ll break down the life size male head into a series of planes and facets, we’ll orient you with facial feature land marking, discuss depth and creating shadows and provide options for sculpting the best head possible.  You’ll also learn how to use templates, translate a 2D drawing to 3D, symmetry tricks, how to model a hard surface, and create a light weight full scale armature. As supplementary featurettes, we’ll also pay a visit to 3DScanLA and learn how to create a digital file from a traditional medium through Photogrammetry and supported software and import those files into ZBrush and explain the basics of cleaning up scanned data and creating a print ready model.
